For the most part, people don’t know that kids can receive Chiropractic care. The premise just seems odd because most people associate Chiropractic care only with getting rid of pain.
Chiropractic, in general, focuses on spinal dysfunction that results in less than optimal function of the nervous system.
The term for this is vertebral subluxation. If during the examination process subluxation is present, a gentle and effective adjustment will be given to start restoring the function within the child’s body.
The nervous system not only senses pain, but controls the function of every working tissue, gland, and organ in the body. With that being said, many of the cases kids come into the office for a look at those important aspects of body functions.
Examples of this include torticollis, ear infections, constipation, ADHD/Autism, and overall wellness during the important times of growth and development.
Significance: Why is it important? How does it help? What are common services/next steps?
Chiropractic care during growth and development is important for every child. From the time that child is conceived they are in a rapid and ever-changing growth and development phase. If there is any stress on the nervous system because of the spinal dysfunction/subluxation, these processes may not be performed at their optimum.
Spinal dysfunction leads to increased stress on the child’s body, in other words their ability to grow and develop is hindered. In order to take stress off of the nervous system the chiropractic adjustment will be given, allowing the child to grow and develop optimally.
