Women are looking to ease some discomfort of an expanding belly, keep their pelvis inline to allow maximal room for growth and development of their little one, and make sure their nervous system is functioning optimally. The biomechanics of the pelvis during pregnancy are a primary focus since changes are happening all the time with a growing baby. Dr. Ryan is certified in Webster Technique through the ICPA and understands the dynamic relationship between your pelvis, nervous system, and baby.

Group 210

Chiropractic care during pregnancy is becoming more popular. At Ryno Family Chiropractic we are Webster Certified by the International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association.

This means we are knowledgeable and equipped to see expecting mothers in our office. The Webster technique focuses on many different aspects of the body.

First, it is crucial that the nervous system is un-obstructed. This is accomplished by making sure that any spinal dysfunction/subluxation that is found is adjusted to optimize the function of the nervous system, that communication information super highway from you to your child.

Next the boney aspects including the joints will be checked in order to ensure proper mobility and alignment.

Lastly, the soft tissue structures will be addressed, such as the hip flexor muscles and round ligament to ensure there is less stress on the uterus allowing for the opportunity for proper fetal positioning.

Significance: Why is it important? How does it help? What are common services/next steps?

There are many changes that take place in the body when having to grow a child! With those changes there are many extra stresses present that the body has to deal with. Since the nervous system controls every one of these body functions it only makes sense to make sure there is no spinal dysfunction hindering the adaption of your body and communication to your baby.

Getting checked for spinal dysfunction/subluxation is a proactive step to ensure your body is functioning at its best during these 9 very important months of your life.

In order to get started under care it is recommended to do a complimentary consultation in order to make sure our office is the right fit for you and we are able to answer all the questions that you have.

From there, an initial visit can be set up which includes going over the history, a functional spinal scan, and functional exam. Following that we will give you our best recommendation for care and we can get started.

We look forward to hearing from you and hope to see you in the office soon.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many weeks pregnant do I have to be in order to start care?

In most cases the perfect time to start care is as soon as possible. It’s never too early or too late to start care, although the best recommendation given for the care plan may look different if care is started at week 12 versus week 35 of pregnancy.

Is the adjustment painful?

The simple answer is no although maneuvering on the Chiropractic table may be difficult at times and there may be some tender areas on the body while you are getting the adjustment.

How soon can I come back to the office to get adjusted following the birth of my child?

As soon as you can. Most new mothers look forward to their first adjustment following labor and delivery. The first adjustment back is tailored to new moms. Some moms are more sore and need a light, gentle, and specific adjustment. Some moms wait a few extra days until their soreness levels are low and they can handle a firmer adjustment.
