Traditional Chiropractic
The goal of traditional Chiropractic is, in general, temporary pain relief and an increase in range of motion. As you know, those are great goals and many Chiropractors can accomplish them, but at Ryno Family Chiropractic our focus is functional correction.
Functional Chiropractic
Functional Chiropractic is unique, which is why our office receives a large variety of cases. The presence of spinal dysfunction can lead to secondary conditions, which are commonly known as “symptoms.” Ryno Family Chiropractic focuses on the underlying cause of the secondary conditions, the spinal dysfunction.
What is Spinal Dysfunction
Perfect function is unique for every individual and at Ryno Family Chiropractic we look to maximize your personal function. There are many different ways to analyze spinal dysfunction to come up with a custom Initial Phase of Care. These will all be covered in the complete functional examination.
What are Secondary Conditions
Secondary conditions are commonly known as “symptoms.” At Ryno Family Chiropractic we understand that there is an underlying cause of your secondary condition, a primary condition known as spinal dysfunction. Some common secondary conditions that present in our office include:
Kids:
- Torticollis, tongue and lip tie issues
- Feeding issues
- Constipation
- Ear infections
Adults:
- Neck and low back pain
- Tingling down the arms and/or legs
- Headaches/migraines, dizziness/vertigo
- Degenerative Disc Disease
Note: We will also address your unique secondary condition during your Functional Exam.
Preparing for Your Visit
Initially, a complimentary consultation will make sure that Ryno Family Chiropractic is the correct office for your care. Following the complimentary consultation, we can transition directly into the complete functional examination or schedule one for a later date.
The complete functional examination takes approximately 45 minutes and includes individual history, 2 functional scans, activities of daily living, subjective outcome questionnaires, potentially x-rays, and orthopedic and neurologic evaluation. On your next visit, your patient recommendation conference will take place and you will receive your first functional Chiropractic adjustment.
Your Care Options
During the patient recommendation conference, the doctor will go over the results of your functional examination. The doctor will make you aware of other medical options that you can explore as we want you to make the most educated decision regarding your condition. Finally, the doctor will present you with the best recommendation based on the results of the functional examination and your specific Chiropractic care goals.
